Sip by Sip

I got some new Stampin' Up stamps Tuesday and was dying to use them! "Sip by Sip" was one of the sets so I used it for Splitcoaststampers card sketch SC221.

OK, I'm not overly fond of this one, but my DH is going out to visit his parents soon, so I thought I'd send this with him to give to my MIL with a bag of Starbucks coffee.

This card includes sewing, lots of 3D dots, flower/button embellishment, stamps and ink. The middle cup was stamped twice, cut and popped up for a 3D effect.

Fan Flower of Friendship

I saw this cool flower idea somewhere, but I don't know where or who to give credit to.

I cut a one inch strip of yellow cardstock, scored every 1/2", did an accordion fold, adhered the ends (to make a circle), and once the glue was dry I turned it to make a "flat" flower. I used glue to adhere it to a chipboard circle base (to prevent it from turning and give it more stability). I used a Circle of Friendship stamp from Stampin' Up, punched with 1" circle punch (backed with 1" chipboard circle) and used those nifty glue dots to place in the center of the flower. Clear as mud?

The layout is from Splitcoaststampers card sketch SC220. When it was all said and done, I wasn't all that fond of this card. My DH just LOVED it. And he is not one to sugarcoat things.

Hi Cupcake

So my DH surprised me on Saturday with a Cricut Jukebox and the Hello Kitty cart. I was finally able to steal a few minutes last night to try out the cart. Here's my first creation:

The cupcake is Hello Kitty and the circles are Plantin Schoolbook. I've included sewing, pop-dots, and the stamp is Inkadinkado.

This is just to show the layers. Oh, this card is inspired from FTL32 (Fall-to-Layout32) over at Clean and Simple Stamping and a Splitcoaststampers sketch (SC83).

Another SCS Sketch

I really like these sketches. They're not as intimidating as I thought.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

The stamp is Stampendous, and I colored it in using prisma pencils and gamsol and used glaze on the flowers and vine. Image and sentiment are on 3D foam dots for added dimension. You know what I just NOW realized? I have the oval in the wrong direction! LOL! Oh well, I tried.

Card Sketch

This card is for a card sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used Stampin' Up's Very Punny set that I recently got at the retired stamp camp. I stamped the pig once on the white and once on pink. I cut him out, put him on 3D dots and added glaze for shine. There's also a bit of sewing and pretty flowers. When my DH saw it, the first thing he said is "what do flowers have to do with pigs?" Men! It's called an embellishment!

More Chipboard

Here are a couple cards I recently made. I'm still using the shapes from the chipboard pack I bought over a year ago! I really love their ease of use but I need to start thinking outside the box.

This card is currently for sale here.

The "Thinking of You" stamp is Inkadinkado, and the "thank you" stamp is Fiskars.

Stamp a Stack

Went to a Stampin' Up Stamp a Stack on Saturday. I had a good time. It was a smaller class than usual, but we kept pretty busy. These are some of the cards I came away with:

Almost Done!

Still dealing with a sick little girl but today she's back at school. I also asked the teacher about the bumble bee song, so she was kind enough to write down the words for us.

So I'm still working on my Cards for Soldiers. Keeping with the flower theme, and wanting to use my Walk In My Garden cart, I came up with this.
I also made ten of these, since they are so simple. They all have different color backgrounds, but each features some type of flower. The sentiment is popped up on 3D dots. I'm almost at 50 cards!!

Another One for Mother's Day

My little girl has been sick the past few days, so I'm just exhausted! I did manage to finish these last night. They are made with the Walk in My Garden cart. Not only that, but they were all made using scraps only! I'm not one to waste paper, so I try to use up every little bit...that's why all the background papers are different colors. So I've made 10 of these for Cards for Soldiers.

Mother's Day already?

For the latest round of Cards for Soldiers, a RAK has been offered to anyone who sends in 50+ cards! Well, I usually only make 15 at a time. In the spirit of friendly competition, I'm going to attempt to have 50 cards ready and mailed out next week. Oh, and the theme is Mother's Day with flowers, buttons, or non-traditional colors.

I know it doesn't look all fancy or anything, but I'm trying to make 50 total!! This is the first one. I've made 8 of this style. On to another! Oh, and this is made using Beyond Birthdays cart for "Mom" and Plantin Schoolbook for the flower.

Birthday Caterpillar

This little guy is cut from the Walk in My Garden cart on my Cricut. He's really cute...but I'm not sure about the card. It seems a little "busy." Have you ever started a project and then get to a point where you have no idea what you want to accomplish? Well, that's this card.

So this is NOT my favorite creation. I'm not even sure what to do with it.

He's got lots of dimension, sewing, bling and everything...maybe it was just too much?

Cards for Soldiers

This post is a little late, but these are the cards I made for the latest round of Cards for Soldiers. The challenge was to make different types of cards (birthday, love, miss you, etc) using one color scheme. I picked out a patterned paper and used that as the base for all the cards.
The pics aren't that great - but I was in a rush.

For the flower card, I used my Cuttlebug to cut the circles - great when making a lot of cards at once. The Happy Birthday card was made using Stampin' Up stamp and punch.
