Puppy Love

Hello and Happy Saturday. Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend!

Today is Saturday, and a new challenge has been posted at Catch the Bug:

GREEN plus SKETCH

So use green and use the sketch at Catch the Bug and join in the fun!

Now, you're probably wondering what a Rottweiler Puppy eating has to do with love (I wondered the same thing after I finished this). Well, DUH! He has a heart on his bowl. OK, it's a stretch, but like I tell Bean: I love you so much I could eat you up!!

Deets: DP is DCWV Crafty Stack and Mod-Retro Stack, diecuts are Cricut cart Plantin Schoolbook at 3/4", sewing, glossy accents, and a teeny tiny flower punch.

Thanks for sharing your weekend with me and have a great day!

Pink Fairy

Hello and Happy Thursday!

The other day I was looking at DailyDare4U and found several challenges that just "spoke" to me! Plus, if you follow along, you know I LOVE Ava and I had her already printed and ready to go, so this is what I came up with:

I'm using Paper Studio's Oops-a-Daisy DP, sewing, Ava colored with PrismaPremiers, glaze, glitter glue, and ribbon. That bow took me FOREVER to make ("forever" is one of Beanie's words and can mean as little as one second)! But really, it took around 15 minutes. A Bow-Maker I am not.

So I put on glitter glue and glaze, then proceeded to stick my hand on it! So I cleaned it up as best I could and re-applied. I was in a rush because we just got our Netflix to stream on our TV and we are now addicted to Dexter - and I wanted to see at least a couple episodes! That's what I get huh?

Thanks for joining me today and have a wonderful Day Before Friday (that's the technical term for Thursday).

This will be entered into the following challenges:

Make a Wooden Charm

Hello all and Happy Wednesday. Over at Catch the Bug, the super talented DT comes up with a tutorial to share weekly...and it's my turn! Click HERE to check out past tutorials.

Well, I'm always looking for things to make especially for Bean. She's at the age where she appreciates mommy-made goodies and shows them off with pride. So today I'm sharing how to make a necklace charm using the following items:
Glue, Glossy Accents, wood shapes, images, Cropadile. I'm using a little Easter image from Bugaboo and Beanie's initials to go on the back.
I colored my image - it doesn't have to be perfect because the glaze makes it beautiful anyway ;) Then I cut the image and initials to the size of the wood piece used. I used Tacky Glue to adhere my bunny on one side and initials on the other. I used an emery board to sand the edges. So here is the "sandwich" of initials-wood-bunny.
I used my Cropadile to punch through all the layers.
I put enough Glossy Accents to cover the image, avoiding the hole. It stays in place nicely and doesn't run all over the place. It will be cloudy. Allow enough time for it to dry fully. Turn over and do the same on the back.
Add a jump ring and a chain, ribbon, string, zipper pull...you get the idea, and you have a sturdy little charm!

I don't have a pic of this being used in action because it's going to go in Bean's basket! Thanks so much for joining me today and have a lovely week!

Good Luck

Hello all and Happy Tuesday! Today I want to share with you one of the NEW RELEASES at Bugaboo Stamps. Why? Because I LOVE Ava! And to put her on a shamrock is just awesome. I just took a peek at the other new releases and there are a few MUST HAVES...like the one of her holding the giant cup of coffee...because that's what I'm doing right now!!

So here's a little card that will probably go to the in-laws from Bean (Bean is Coyote, so I do my best to celebrate her "other side" LOL!). I used DCWV Mod-Retro and Crafty stacks. Sewing, and glaze. There's lots of "white space" (actually, green), but I like the look.

Here's an up-close of Ava with locks the same color as Bean. The great layout is courtesy of Card Positioning Systems #206. And just a reminder that the current challenge over at Catch The Bug is GET WELL!
Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you return!

Dog Bones 4 U

Hello all! Today is Thursday, a.k.a OBG (Oldie But Goody) day at Catch The Bug. This is the day that the DT shows off older, yet much loved Bugaboo stamps.

I have fallen in LOVE with the Rottweiler Puppies! I think I have the entire set! I used the DCWV Mod-Retro pack DP, Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cart for the 4U (cut at 1 3/4 using Roly Poly feature) shaded, sewing, glaze and glitter.

Can you see the glittery goodness on the 4 and the shine on the pup? I personally think this one looks much better IRL. Anyway, thank you for joining me today. I appreciate your visit!

Happy Day

Hello all and Happy Valentines Day! I'm not really one to celebrate this "holiday" since it's my belief that we should be good and loving throughout the year. But having Bean makes me want to celebrate even the most benign occasion.

So no papercraft today. Today I'm sharing the wreath I made in January.

This is a styrofoam ring (flat on one side), covered with red yarn, pink heart made of felt and attached with nylon/invisible thread.

We also had a little "hunt" for Bean. A trail of Hershey Kisses led to candies, chongo holders (the heart's in her hair...I think they are called pony-tail holders in English), and a charm bracelet. She was so excited and it was just so much joy to watch!

Have a wonderful and loving day!

Howdy Cowboy

Hello all. Today is Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge at Catch The Bug:

DIFFERENT FOLD
Well, different/fancy folds are not my specialty, so I referenced a book received from my MIL that is all about folds! I got it a year or so ago and loved thumbing through it, but never made anything from it....till now:

From the outside, it looks like a "regular" card. Then you untuck the image from the sentiment oval and get this:

Open yet one more flap to reveal the writing area.

This will be going to my MIL as a "thank you" for the book. I will write my message on a post it so she can "recycle" my card to someone else!

The DP is DCWV Crafty Stack, and the Wee One Cowboy image is colored with Copics and Prismas. So make sure to enter your Different Fold card at Catch the Bug. You can also check out the rest of the amazing creations by the DT (no joke, they really are talented!).

Thanks for stopping by on a Saturday and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Love Dragon

Hello all and Happy Friday! Every Friday at Bugaboo, a new digital image is generously given away...FOR FREE! And this week, it's Clyde!

I was real excited to use this little dragon...and thought of quite a few sarcastic sentiments to go with him...but I thought I would be "kind" this time around. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Short & Sweet.

Here's a close up of the FREEBIE you can get today, for one week only! Now really, who can resist this face....and at such a great price!

Thank you for taking a look at today's creation and hope you all have a great weekend. Check back tomorrow for my take on the new Catch the Bug challenge.

This meets the following challenges:

Who's Having a Birthday?

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Quick share today:

Here's the birthday card for my Auntie Lena who loves owls. I'm using Card Patterns sketch 101 (flipped), DCWV Crafty Stack DP, Create a Critter Cricut cart (owl cut at 3", branch cut at 2.5"), sewing and homemade pearls (using my new hot glue gun - colored with Ranger alcohol inks).

See, I said it would be quick ;) Thanks for visiting today!

Bugaboo and Yudu

Hello all and Happy Monday. Today is ABC (Anything But a Card) day over at Catch the Bug.

So, Bean is really into skulls lately and I found this great set at Bugaboo (got it at 60% off during the 1 year old sale!!) called CUTE SKULLS. I also got quite a few tshirts on sale at Hobby Lobby I've been wanting to embellish for her.

Check out the snow! Anyway, I'm going to make one more using a green shirt with the image in black. This was going to be for her scavenger hunt on Valentine's Day (more about that later), but she already saw it and wore it to school.

Thanks for joining me for something a little different today! I appreciate you dropping by.

Birthdays Can Be Ruff

Hello all. Are you keeping warm? Here in New Mexico, we are freezing! This is the 3rd day in a row that schools have called a snow day. No...there's no more snow on the ground. It's just super cold and now we are having gas cut-offs. We just aren't prepared for such cold temps.

Anyway, I've been meaning to share this card with you but I've had my hands full with Bean being home and also watching her little cousin. They might be small, but boy they can keep you busy!

Don't you love his expression?! I'm not sure if he requires a "Beware of Dog" sign or if he will jump up and lick your face to death! I believe he was a Bugaboo freebie...which should be good incentive to join the Bugaboo group at CDAC.

Anyway, I need a few more masculine cards for my stash, and I think he fits the bill. So back to trying to warm my fingers and hopefully get a few more things ready for Beans' Valentine's Day scavenger hunt (more to come). Thanks for visiting!

This card meets the following wonderful challenges:
