Candy Party Favors

Last week I shared the cupcake toppers I made for Bean's birthday party.  Today I'm sharing some party favors I put together.
 1) I found an image online that I wanted to use.  I did clean up the image a bit so it was just a plain rainbow with clouds.  I added her name and age in the clouds.  I opened Word and was able to fit 6 images per page.
 2) I cut out the images for the front, and cut out an equal number of blank squares for the back.  Both are regular copy paper so they wouldn't be too thick.  The squares don't have to be exact at this point.  So I have my front squares, my back squares, and a bag of candy - Skittles.  Get it?  A rainbow of flavor?
3) Using a regular sewing machine stitch, sew THREE sidesPut candy inside and THEN sew the forth side of the square.  Yes, I realize mine are technically rectangles.  And, these held 10 skittles.  Don't like to sew?  Use a tape runner or double sided tape.

4) Once all four sides are sewn with candies inside, I used pinking shears to cut around the package to make them even.  I displayed them on her "gift table" as a decoration and favor.  These were a hit!  As always, thanks for visiting!

Baby Fish

Hello all and hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Today, Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring this week's Digi Darla Designs challenge:
LET'S CELEBRATE

And with Sprout on the mind, I'm into celebrating babies right now!
I thought using Digi Darla's Sea Animals Heart was the way to go because they look like "mommy and baby."  The sentiment is Stampin' Up's Word For You.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I really appreciate it!  Have a wonderful week!

Carrot For You

Yay it's Friday!  But I want to share something with you.  I try to post the FREEBIE FRIDAY from Bugaboo Stamps every week, but I've gotten lazy.  I just think freebies are such a bonus and like spreading the word.
So take a look at today's freebie!  I liked his little face because he looks like he could be stealing that carrot and just got caught in the act!
I think he'd look good on a seed packet or obviously for Easter, but I need more "general" cards for a gift.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes (this REALLY is a good set).  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Hippo Thanks

Hello all.  Today I'd like to share another one of my little gift boxes.  If you are interested in a tutorial on how to create this super easy box, head on over to Just Some Lines Blog where I am today's GDT.

I'm using Happy Hippo 2 to embellish this little gift - who Bean calls "Gloria," you know, from Madagascar?  Also, the sentiment is from Stampin Up's Petite Pairs.  Thank you for visiting, and hope you'll leave me a comment at the JSL blog!

A Little Sassy at CTB

Hello and Happy Saturday.  Today starts a new challenge over at Catch the Bug:
And this week Sassy Cheryl is sponsoring this challenge so there's a chance at winning Sassy Cheryl digi's as well as Bugaboo Stamps.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up's Petite Pairs.
Here is a close up of her with her cute little dress.  I think with the star balloons, she'd also be great for the 4th of July.  So, I hope you all had a great weekend and thanks so much for visiting!

Daisies for Mom

Hello all and hope you are having a great week.  Today at Catch the Bug, we like to dust off "old" but still loved Bugaboo stamps for our Oldie But Goody day!

OK, so I'm using Girlz - Daisies, which really isn't all that old.
This was my card to my mother for Mother's Day.  I really like the Girlz and made one using Girlz - Bare Feet last week for my cousin also for Mother's Day.
The sentiment is from the very generous Create with TLC and reads: A mother's love is like sunshine...that warms you all over.  I placed it at the very bottom inside.  The layout is Splitcoaststampers SC255 - lots of layers and my sewing machine wasn't too happy with me.
And speaking of Mother's Day, just want to share a recent pic of Sprout who is now 3 months old.  How the time flies!!  And how the love grows!!

Mom with Bare Feet

Hello all and Happy Wednesday!  How this week is going by at the speed of light!!  I have all my thesis work due on Friday and I don't think I'm going to make the deadline.   At this rate, I will NEVER complete graduate school.

Anyway, today Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge blog and their challenge this week is:
I LOVE YOU MOM
So I was inspired to make a Mother's Day card using Girlz Bare Feet for a special cousin.  I don't know if you can see my sentiment in the lower right corner, but it's there!  I'm using Stampin Ups Teeny Tiny Wishes and Splitcoaststampers Layout SC177.
There's something about these "Girlz" that I'm really drawn too.  Bean asked "where is her smile?"  But I like the fact that she has an expression without really having an expression.  Know what I mean?

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really do appreciate every visit!

Hello all and Happy Tuesday.  Quick share today to announce the latest challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday:
KEEP IT SIMPLE
This challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps so I pulled out one of the Make It Snappy digis - which are great for quick and easy cards.
I'm using Make it Snappy - You are My Sunshine and a few layers.  That's it.  Plain DP, layered with white and then yellow, one colored image also layered and on pop-dots.  So "Keep it Simple" to join Top Tip Tuesday sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps this week for a chance to win!

Flowers and a Pink Zebra

Hello all.  Hope you had a great weekend!  Today I have two things to share.  Monday's over at Catch the Bug is ABC day - Anything But a Card.  This week is also Teacher Appreciation Week so I'm making these little boxes for Bean's teachers to include candy and a gift card.
I hate to say it, but I really have no clue what is an appropriate teacher's gift!  Anyway, here is a close up - I'm using Flower Pot 4 from Bugaboo Stamps.  The sentiment is from my new Stampin Up set A Word For You.
This meets the following challenges:
********NEXT*******
And my next share is a card I made for a swap with Paper Pretties.  Isn't this zebra SO cute?
Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring their challenge this week: USE RIBBON!  Where is my ribbon you ask?  Well, I forgot.  I was so busy looking for the right paper and layout that I completely forgot what the challenge was.
I'm putting together a few all-occasion cards for a gift to include this little cutie.  Can you read the sentiment?  It reads:  Pink is the New Black.  As for my fabulous layout, check out Sketchy Thursday at Eat Sleep Stamp.  And with all the pink, I will also be entering this in the Pink & Cute challenge at Crafty Mess Challenge Blog.

Cupcake Toppers

Hello all.  Today I'm sharing the cupcake toppers I made for Bean's birthday party cupcakes.  These are super easy to make and can make plain ol' cupcakes look extra special.

1) Start with a printout of 1.5" images.  I made these in word using a rainbow I found online and added the number 5 on top.
2) Using a 1.5" circle punch, punch out the images.  Using a corresponding scallop punch, punch the same number of scalloped circles as round circles.  So here, I have punched out 24 round and 24 scallop.
3) Glue the circles on the scallops.  Keep in mind that it takes two complete sets to make one topper.  So my 24 sets will make 12 toppers.
4) To complete the toppers, I use lollipop sticks and a glue gun.  These can also be made with Popsicle sticks or toothpicks.  I don't claim to see the future, but I can imagine a whole lot of problems with using toothpicks...especially if these are for kids.
5) Use glue gun to place stick on the wrong side of one scallop, and repeat to make a sandwich with the other scallop.
6)  Allow to cool and stick the completed topper in the center of your cupcakes!
These were a hit with the Birthday Girl!
Are you wondering what kind of cupcakes I made?  Well, Rainbow of course!!
People got a real kick out of these!  And they are quite easy to make.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Best Friends ATC

Hello and Happy Saturday!   Today starts the new challenge at Catch the Bug, and this week it's:
ANYTHING GOES

I'm sharing my ATC using Turtle - Lady Bug that I made for my swap group:
The theme was GREEN, but I thought a touch of red would look nice too.
And a close up of the "friends."  Remember, you can use any image to enter, but you must use a Bugaboo image to win the main prize.

My Baby Turned 5

Hello all.  Today, my Bean turned 5 years old!!  On Saturday, we had a little party (I hope to share a couple things I made for her party soon).
She had a great time!  I made her her own special cake, cupcakes, and cake pops.
Sprout had fun too, but passed out early.
And here is a pic of my lovely today on her "real" birthday.
