How to Make a Post It Note Holder

I made this the other night and thought I'd share it with you.

First, I get all my supplies: a coaster (the one I'm using is from Outback Steakhouse), two coordinating pieces of patterned paper, deco-podge, xacto knife, file block, paint brush, post it pad, sticky strip (not shown) and acco fastener.

I paint the deco podge on the coaster. You can use tacky glue or other adhesives such as a snail runner, but I like the full coverage of the deco podge and think it makes for better durability.

Place patterned paper/cardstock on deco podge covered coaster and press.

Once dry (it doesn't have to be completely dry, but the paper should not be able to move freely on the adhesive), cut around coaster with xacto knife. Follow the same procedures for other side of coaster using coordinating piece of patterned paper/cardstock.

Use file block (at least that's what I call it - a disposable nail file will due) to sand all edges to give it a more finished look. I also use a little deco-podge on the edges to prevent the coaster from splitting. Coaster is done!

Cut patterned paper to appropriate size and adhere to acco fastener with sticky strip (that stuff is super sticky and I just love it!). Also, a little ribbon will finish the look.
Ta-da! The front.
And the back. Of course, if you don't want to make one yourself, feel free to stop by HERE to purchase one already assembled.
