Love Them Pumpkins

Hello all and welcome to Friday with The Character Cafe! The challenge this week is:

DIE CUT
RIBBON
3 CIRCLES

Pfew....sounds like a good one! I am not participating in the challenge this week, but I am still going to show off a TCC creation!

Oh how I love these pumpkins! At first, my card was WAY boring so I pulled out some stamps and Ranger Inks - my hands are still stained. And I think sewing adds an extra touch. So nothing but plain CS here, Dots by Stampin' Up, flourish by Inkadinkado, image is TCC colored with Prismapremiers.

I put plenty of G glitter glue on the pumpkins, and I can't tell you how they sparkle in real life! Oh so pretty. So play along this week for your chance to win $5 to the Store!

Sweet Pea

Hello and Happy Thursday. Wow, it has been getting COLD here! Makes for lots of crafting nights!

Last night I put this little card together for no particular reason.
I don't think it's necessarily a "baby card" since I call Bean "Sweetie Pea." Maybe a "thank you" card? Love card?

Hopefully you can see the glaze and glittery goodness. The layout is Card Patterns #87 (flipped), papers are Magnolia, diecuts from Country Life Cricut Cart (Yup, it's new :) ), peas cut at 3" and sentiment cut at 1.5". Sewing around the card and around the half circle, fuzzy ribbon and pop dots. This took a little more time than I usually spend on my cards, but it made for a good evening.

Thank you for stopping by! I really do appreciate it!

Winter Wishes

Hello and Happy Tuesday. So, initially I set out to participate in the MyGrafico challenge: embossing. Then I moved on and found another challenge, and another. So I put my idea's down on paper:

First, I love this little penguin. Second, you can't see all the glittery goodness or glaze that looks so pretty. Anyway, in real life, this card turned out pretty darn cute and is now "Card #6" (as in I have now completed 6 Christmas cards!).

So, I double check the MyGrafico site for the deadline and realized one little thing...I FORGOT TO EMBOSS!! So I take out my Cuttlebug and added a few snowflakes in each corner! As I do this, I realize the entire card would have looked great embossed...instead of the mess I made in the corners. But it's too late now...and whoever this card goes to, they probably won't even realize it was an afterthought! **Details: Magnolia DP, sewing, MyGrafico image colored with Copics, glaze, glitter glue, Stampin' Up Sentiment Short & Sweet.

Retro Toaster

Hello all and Happy Monday! Today is Squigglefly Challenge day and the current challenge is:

FALL/HALLOWEEN COLORS

I have a new Squigglefly image to show off...still using fall-ish colors:

OK...tootin' my own horn here, but I LOVE this card!!! The image is TOASTER by Michelle Bertuzzi. It also comes with the sentiment "Feeling a Little Burnt Out?" but I went with my own: Poppin' In To Say....Hi.

The papers are Magnolia, shaded with Ranger Inks, image colored with Copics, a little sewing, computer generated sentiment.

Many Wishes Bear

Hello all...two posts in one day! Well, this was a last minute card...actually, I colored the image and had an idea in mind, but last night I worked quickly to put it together.

My Auntie's birthday is tomorrow, and she was just admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery...so this card is for a Birthday Wish, and Wish You Well!
This friendly Scarecrow Bear is from Designed2Delight. It's the current FREEBIE if you've been playing along in the progressive challenge. I went with Fall colors and really like the way he's just looking up...almost like he's looking up at the heavens. Anyway, this little guy comes in a complete set that is just awesome!

I just got the Martha Stewart all around border punch (with the 50% off coupon I got off the Oprah website!). Took me a bit to figure it out...then I read the directions! LOL!! Just plain papers here, a sheer ribbon, sewing, and Stampin' Up's Sweet Shapes stamp set (light flourishes and stars using Ranger Ink).

I hope to visit my Auntie for lunch today. I know she will love this. She's a crafter too :)

If you don't have this stamp, you can pick it up in the Store. If you use it this week and add it to the challenge at the Blog, then you get next weeks stamp free! Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

Boo Kitty

Hello all. Got a quick (and late) post today:
I got this adorable kitty as a freebie from Pollycraft. I was happy with my coloring...up until I sponged the background in black and purple. I'm just not sure about it! The letters are from the Mickey Font Cricut Cart (cut at 1.5" multicut).

Here's a view so hopefully you can see the glaze on the moon and eye, and the glitter pen on the fence. See...told you this was going to be short!

With Love and Texture

Hello all and Happy Wednesday! Today my Bean was in a little play at school. Her class led chapel, sang songs, did pledges, and my baby, yes, MY baby did the opening prayer! Oh, such a proud mama moment!

Here's a card I made for "just in case" occasions. It uses two Squigglefly digi's, colored with copics and shaded. I must have had a little too much coffee...my sewing looks a little questionable. But hey! That's "handmade!!" The layout is Splitcoaststampers.

Over at the SNR Squigglefly group, there's a texture challenge. Can you see all the glaze I added to her flowers and hair? I try and try to get a good pic, but it's a challenge for me!

Anyway, just a quick one today! Oh, and the DP is Pink Armadillo. Thanks so much for stopping by. Also, there's a new challenge using little shoes over at the Squigglefly Challenge Blog.

Sweet Birthday

Hello all and happy Tuesday! Quick post today...

Here is a birthday card I made:

Is she sexy or what?! The inside reads: (Sweet) Birthday Wishes.
The stamp is Bugaboo (got a great deal a few months ago), colored with Copics and Prismas. I added a little glaze and sewing. The DP is Pink Armadillo. This will be entered in the Bugaboo Challenge - Enjoy the Sweetness and Cards For Men Challenge - Happy Birthday.

Fairy Wish

Hello all. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Anyway, I made a Birthday card - to go in my collection. I never have enough of these!
I'm using a sketch from 2sketches4you, and the digi is Pollycraft colored with Prismas - for their It's a Fairytale Challenge.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.
I got this cool pen a while back at my Copics Certification class, and it's real glittery. This is my first use (on her dress and hat) and I LOVE it! I don't know where to get them, but I can see me "needing" more. I also put glaze on her wings...still working with my new camera to get a good shot of glaze and shimmer.

Anyway, have a safe and fun weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Snail Birthday

Hello everyone and welcome to Friday with The Character Cafe.

I don't know why, but I like snail images. However, I do NOT like the snails that have taken over my fish tank...any suggestions? Card details: image is TCC colored with Prismas, nesties and Ranger Inks, sewing, Stampin' Up's Short & Sweet sentiment, Paper Studio DP, and glaze.

Can you see it?! It's on the little "bits" on his shell. I thought a snail would make a GREAT belated birthday card and I was also aiming for fall colors. What do you think? Did I succeed?

Note: don't forget to check out the Character Cafe Challenge Blog for this weeks challenge!

Treat Bag Cover

Hello all...Halloween is just around the corner and I'm in the mood for decorations! We got a couple of light up pumpkins and ghosts (from Target) to dress up the living room, and Bean is looking forward to the big Candy Night!!
I so want to make cute little candy things for the kids at Bean's school...but first, they don't celebrate Halloween, and second, they are "junk food" free. Huh?! Remember just being a kid growing up? Not having all these diet rules, prayer rules, pledge rules? Oh don't get me started :)
Anyway, this is my first attempt at making one of these cute treat bag covers. As I was finishing up, my mind was running with lots of ideas on decoration, sizes, types of candy, etc. A few details: bazzil CS, sewing, Martha Stewart punch (did you get your 50% off any Martha product at the Oprah site?), pumpkins are Tiddly Inks colored with Prismapremiers, $1 sentiment stamp, cropadile, string.

Earth's Laughter

Hello all and Happy Tuesday! With the air getting cold, all I want to do is craft! I LOVE Fall and Winter!! So if anyone wants, please feel free to share what you've been working on...even share a link or two to something crafty!
Today I'm sharing a 100% digital card! First, I'm using this weeks freebie from Designed2Delight. The trio of flowers come in black and white and I used my Corel software to change them to green. I opened Word, selected Text Box, and inserted my green flowers, resized, and copied so I'd have 3. Then another Text Box with just solid green to put behind my flowers. Then another Text Box for the sentiment (that comes with the flower set). One last Text Box for the green with black swirls background from Pink Petticoat!
I printed all these Text Boxes on one sheet of 80lb white CS. I can't even tell you how fast this card was to make. Having the layout in my head made it go even faster. BTW, I put a single strip of ribbon first, then made a pretty bow with another ribbon and adhered with a sticky dot.

Thanks so much for stopping by today....keep warm!

Celebrate with Squigglefly

Hello and Happy Monday! Today's challenge over at Squigglefly is:

Celebrate!

That means any celebration so I chose Birthday and my favorite Squigglefly image:
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little bunny because he's so versatile. The DP is Me&My Big Ideas, the sentiment is computer generated, image is Squigglefly colored with Copics, fussy-cut and 3D dots, and just a tad of sewing. This was SUPER simple! I love 20-minute cards.

So don't forget to enter your Celebration card over at the Challenge Blog and I recommend you check out the rest of the DT creations because they are a groups of super talented ladies (all blogs listed to the right ----->).

Birthday Robot Dog

Hello all and Happy Thursday! The week is almost over...at least for me. Tomorrow we're taking Bean to Hinkles (a fun center with race cars, bumper boats, games, etc) because she is STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!

Anyway, I finally got to finish this card for my nephew John. His birthday is next week...hopefully he doesn't think this is too childish. I hate to say it, but I don't even know how old he's going to be.

I got the Robotz Cricut cart a couple months ago (on sale at Michaels) and never used it! It's not the first neglected cart. So this little guy is cut at 4" and shaded with chalk inks. I also added white pen and glaze on a few parts.

Other details: Cosmo Cricket DP, Stampin' Up's Short & Sweet sentiment, round nesties. I hope he likes it...I'm still trying to think of something Witty to put on the inside.

Being Inspired

Hello all. Today I have two projects to share. What I love about Blogs: the inspiration. The hard part is remembering it all! Well, I found THIS little box over at Sandy's Blog and knew I wanted to make one too!
This is cut using Tags Bags Boxes & More Cricut cart at 8.5" on blackout. The DP is Paper Studio's Oops-A Daisy. BTW, I did use Multi-Cut (2) to make sure it cut through completely. I don't have the Gypsy or the software, so I made my little window using punches and acetate. Super easy!
Can you see what's inside? Cookies from Honolulu - for Bean's teacher. Just a little gift from Hawaii. Anyway, thanks Sandy. I didn't even know there was such a cute box on this cart!!
Now, another "not a card" creation was inspired by this post at Schlosser Designs. She was kind enough to provide a PDF with the pattern and instructions and I thought it was perfect for fall.
The pumpkin took no time at all, but the stem took a little longer because I forgot how to do a blanket stitch. Basically, I watched TV while finishing this up...so maybe an hour total.
Of course, this is going in my living room to "pretty it up" a bit, but I'm sure when I get home today, Bean will be playing a game of ball with my lovely creation! Yup, I can see the future!
