Gift for my Cousin

So my little cousin moved away to Reno and I know she's been down - missing friends and family. So I put this together last night and I'll be sending it to her today. I hope she likes it!

Once again, using some of my favorite papers.

A simple set of four all occasion cards using Inkadinkado and Stampin' Up stamps.

Also, she LOVES Mac & Cheese so I made her this cute little notebook using my Zutter. Hopefully it will bring a smile to her face. Yup, this is made from a real Mac & Cheese box. I cut blank paper to size then bound.

Happy Birthday!

Well, my Dad is turning 74 this year, and men's cards are NOT my specialty. I love flowers, stitching, embellishments, and flourishes. I ran this card by my husband when I was done, complaining that something was missing. He said it was perfect because you don't want lots of "crap" on a man's card (yes, crap).
I don't remember where I got the origami shirt from, but I'm sure if you google it, you'll find lots of tutorials.
I love this paper pack and the stamp is a dollar stamp from Michael's. I love using the pencil and gamsol technique, and hope to be as good as Sue someday. Her cards are inspirational. Check out her gallery and tutorial.

Blue Birthday

I got these great Inkadinkado stamps from Costco a while back (I regret not getting the other 2 kinds) that had 4 sets of stamps. It was a really great deal! There are so many really cool images to choose from. So I used my chalk inks for the balloons and really liked the way this turned out.

Depending on how long it takes one to stamp, this can be put together in less than 15 minutes. Of course picking out colors takes me forever!

Paper Pups

I'm not really sure why I've avoided the Paper Pups cart for so long. I initially got it because of all the great creations I saw on the Cricut board...but I couldn't muster up enough motivation to actually use it myself.

So I pulled out some DP I didn't think I'd ever use. I cut out one of the pups. From there, I just tried to make it work. It was a lot easier to use this cut than I thought it would be! I did lots of shading on the brown areas, heat embossed black on his nose and eyes, added a dog collar with an XO tag with bling (it doesn't show the rhinestone in the pic very well), and used the heart cut too. Of course I had to include a little sewing as well. I would probably be lost without my sewing machine.

Here is a cutie with his balloon. The DP is from the unknown stack, the sentiment is computer generated, and there is real string attached to the balloon, tucked in the pup's mouth. This little guy has lots of character.

Cards for Soldiers

On occasion I make cards for soldiers. So I thought I would share the ones I recently made....I signed up to make 15 total.

I love these stamps from Stampin' Up!

These use Inkadinkado stamps. I get practice with the pencil/watercolor technique when I make multiple cards like this.
You can't really see the dimension in this card. It has several layers to it and uses a quote from Paper Crafts Magazine. I just printed and cut them out.

Two More Baby Cards

I really have been having fun. That means "me" time. The kid has been going down at 7:30pm (if we leave her light on, she can play a little before going nite-nite, and no crying) and it's been so peaceful. With all this time, I've been able to take a good look at New Arrival. There is SO much on this cart, and I've barely touched the surface.
I cut the feet 3 times to make the circle thicker...I don't know why I didn't use chipboard?? I also pulled out the cuttlebug for the dry embossing using the dots folder. This card is so bright! I'm not used to using such bright colors.
Added DP from my unknown stack, and the sentiment is computer generated.

On this card, I used the multi-cut feature on my Bug to cut the chipboard. I used Inkadinkado stamps and chalk inks in the corners for a little flourish, and the sentiment is computer generated.

More from New Arrival

Here's another baby card from New Arrival. I just love this moon. I added a little sewing around the hat and added a pom-pom to the end. He looks so peaceful.
The paper is from an ever growing stack of various papers. I used light brown chalk inks on the moon, eyes, and mouth.

Trying to use this cart outside the box, and with Valentine's Day approaching, here's an attempt at a love card. I love sewing on cards. The heart is on pop-dots, and I added a few rhinestones. One can never have too much bling.

I've Dusted Off My Bug

My bug has been so neglected due to holidays and such, so I decided to dust it off and start with a rarely used cart: New Arrival. So two weeks ago, I went to a baby shower and do you think I had a card? Of course not! I'm like the mechanic with the broke down car.

I used a layout from Clean & Simple Stamping. I love the CAS cards they feature.

Since I had the cart out, I figured I'd keep going. A sort of "self challenge" since this cart has been so neglected. Speaking of neglect...Paper Pups is next on my list!!
