Bobblehead Snowman

Hello all and Happy Tuesday! I'm late as usual, still making my Christmas cards when I should be mailing them out! I have several images already stamped and colored, just need to put the card together. I hope to make some progress this week!

This is Bobblehead Snowman. I got a couple of these cuties from Bugaboo during the 50% off sale - that I think is still running. I went with "regular" DP since I'm on a non-traditional kick right now. A little sewing and ribbon, glaze, and pop dots. The sentiment is Recollections.

Trying to show off the glaze here :) Bean saw me coloring these and said "awwww, these are adorable. Wait, they look different...they have big heads!" Yup, my little 3 year old is quick! Hope to make a few more tonight! I've GOT to catch up!! But first, on my way to catch up on some of my blog friends who inspire me.

This card meets the following challenges:

Bugaboo Design Team

Hello all and Happy Monday! Boy I had a busy weekend, but it was great. Got to visit with my brother who lives in Colorado and his boy. I've only seen my nephew a couple times (and he's already 11 years old....long story), so it was great getting to know him a bit. Plus, they got to visit with my Bean, so that was very special to me.

Now, I have an announcement:

I made the Bugaboo Design Team!
I adore the images and have quite a collection already (they have GREAT sales!). Part of the application was to use Stella...so I've been holding onto this card for a couple weeks now. Isn't she great?
And here's the sentiment that goes along with her.

So I hope you will stick with me through my journey with Bugaboo. I know you'll LOVE the stamps as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day....it's freezing here so I hope to get some baking done tonight and get my craft on for a bit too. BTW...saw Harry Potter this weekend - it was da bomb!

Gift Giving Magnets

Hello all and welcome to Designed2Delight's Gift Giving From the Heart.

The DT has come up with some GREAT and inexpensive gift ideas for this season. We all know how expensive it can be to buy something for friends, family, co-workers, the paper delivery lady, etc., but this year I will be making the majority of the gifts I give because not only do I save money, but it allows me to put thought and warmth into the gifts I will be giving.
One of my gifts this year are super personalizable (is that even a word?). For example, I have made this set of magnets using the Dollar Delight digital stamp Cocoa. This is going to a coffee lover in the family. I have a set of Owls and Roosters planned as well for other family members.
These measure approximately 1" by 3/4" each. I printed out 4 cups (fairly small), 2 regular and 2 flipped so the handles are in different directions. I chose 4 bright Copics and colored the cups as well as the background area.
Once my images were dry, I placed a good amount of Glossy Accents on the image and placed a Fragment on top. I squished the Fragment down a bit until I could see the image clearly - a cloudy image means there's a little too much Glossy Accents. Let dry - remove excess from sides if you'd like while it's still a little wet.
Cut around the image with scissors or Xacto knife. Clean up with an emery board, place magnets on back with a good adhesive (I used E-6000).
Here's one on the fridge doing it's job ;)

Don't forget the presentation:

I was going to upcycle a cigar tin, but it was way too big, so I made a "matchbook" style card. The staple on the bottom is covered by the bow. I used a much larger cup on the front to coordinate with the magnets.
Here's the inside...I used rubber cement to keep the magnets in place since it rubs off easily. Whatcha think?
Want to know the total cost of my gift?
We, the Designed2Delight DT, really love what we do and hope to inspire you. So I hope you will continue your "blog hop" with Gift Giving From the Heart. Here are a few additional Details:
  • There will be random drawings for commenting on each blog listed at Card-Ideas (and don't forget to comment at Card-Ideas too!)

  • Visit Card-Ideas for all the prize details

  • Contest will close at the end of day Cyber Monday
Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog!

Friendly Fredrik

Hello all and welcome to Friday with The Character Cafe! First, I hope you all had a GREAT and safe Thanksgiving.

Now, this week's challenge at The Character Cafe is:
Natural Color and Glitter/Sprakles

First, I'm using one of my favorite images: Froggin' Fredrik

The "kraft" is recycled cardboard from a fat-quarter (pre-packed material) that has great color and texture - so I HAD to save it and put it to good use. The scalloped square is DCWV Glitter Cardstock, the flourish is from the same matstack cut at 1 3/4" from Cindy Loo Cricut cart, sewing, copics, and Ranger Inks. SUPER CAS! I like this one...but I think I'll add glaze to the water ;)

So show us your sparkle at the Challenge Blog and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration (blogs to the right---->>).

Good luck out there if you're participating in any Black Friday activities!!

Skating Penguin

Hello all and Happy Tuesday!! Thursday is just around the corner and my brother is on his way into town to have Thanksgiving with us. My house will be full and crowded, but hey, it's all good fun.

So here's another card I made this weekend. I've been into penguins lately and LOVE them for Christmas cards. The image is the freebie this week at Designed2Delight (free for those who played last week), but is available in the shop if you want to play this week (and you'll get next weeks image free). DP is MME Magnolia and the layout is Eat Sleep Stamp #109. I used my Cuttlebug for the snowflakes for the Double Delight challenge, added glaze and Ranger Ink for shading.

OK, hope to get more cleaning done today and make a couple more Christmas gifts...I'll share those soon!

3 Posts in 1

Hello and happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I was able to clean the living room carpet, sew, embroider, and make a few more Christmas cards. I was very productive!

Today is Squigglefly Monday, and that means a new challenge:

THANK YOU/GIVE THANKS

I used Lettering Delights for he papers, the Journal Blocks are by Ashley Summers, and sentiment uses Ballpark font. Except for the sewing, this is an all digi card!

This card meets the following challenges:
There's a lot going on at Squigglefly right now. This weekend, there was a big release and THREE new artists were introduced. One of the new artists is none other than fellow design team member Marlene! Squigglegly is also welcoming Brian Lock and Suzanne Urban.

********************************************

Here is another card for this years mail out:

The image is Maisy Dressing Snowman by Diane Carubia, colored with Copics and Prismas. The DP is from Me & My Big Ideas (from 2 years ago I think). The sentiment is Stampin' Up's Small Script, sewing, and a little chalk ink.

This card will be entered in the following challenges:

************Not A Card****************

I found these beanies at Target this weekend for only $1 and thought "what a deal!" So later that night I put my machine to work and embroidered the snowflakes and Beanie's name. She loved it! I'm going to put it in the wash to see (and hope) that it shrinks a bit.

I think these would make GREAT gifts! Oh, and Bean is into self-expression lately, so excuse the pic.

O Holy Night

Hello all and welcome to Friday with The Character Cafe. This weeks challenge is:

Handmade Flower

I'm not on the challenge team this week but I'm still here to show off a lovely TCC image:

She's one of my favorites and I think perfect for Christmas. Also, I'm using my favorite song for the computer generated sentiment. I used Lettering Delights for the digipaper, TCC image colored with Copics and Prismas, sewing, and glaze.

Oh how I love this image! I haven't made nearly enough Christmas cards, so I'm doubling up and made two of these. I think this is a pretty good shot of her wings. The layout is 2Sketches4You #66.

So show off your handmade flowers at The Character Cafe challenge blog!

HB2U

Hello all and happy Wednesday. This month my little cousins both celebrate their birthdays. Of course one is in his mid 20's and the other in her early 30's, but they are still "little" to me.

Here is the card I made for Sarah. I really enjoyed coloring all these cupcakes and I added lots of glaze.

The DP is DCWV Nana's Kids, image is Bugaboo (I got lots of goodies with the 50% off sale they're having), sewing, and Opposites Attract Cricut cart for the sentiment (1" for HBU and 1.5" for the 2).

Can you see the shiny goodness? The layout is Splitcoaststampers SC306. It's a great sketch that I'm thinking of using for some Christmas cards. I have so much to catch up on! I'm also entering this in Cute Card Thursday's Anything Goes challenge #138 and Tuesday Morning Sketches Cupcakes, Cupcakes, Cupcakes challenge #68.

Well, thank you for stopping by and have a great day. Stay warm!

Pink Princess

Hello all and happy Tuesday! I'm sharing a card I made last week but was unable to post.
Faith at Designed2Delight just created a couple super adorable birthday sets. I'm using the Princess set for my niece's birthday...I hope she likes pink!
Here is the inside. Both front and inside have sewing, colored with Copics and Prismas, the papers are unknown, added glaze and sparkle, and Fiskars border punch. This was initially made with a few challenges in mind, but they are already over :( Oh well. Next time.

Music Fairy

Good morning and welcome to Squigglefly Monday! The challenge this week is:

Music To My Ears
At first I was a little stumped but then I just started putting things together. I used different digi elements to create this card:

Background paper is Lindsay's Stamp Stuff music sheet on top of Little Dreamer. The other DP's are Little Dreamer as well. The digi is Woodland Nymph by Chesney Young colored with Copics and Prismas. Sewing, liquid pearls in the corners, and glaze.

I guess I didn't tack the wings down very well because as the glaze dried, the wings lifted...and I think it looks cool. So I hope you will join us this week with your musical creation!

******NOT A CARD********
This weekend Bean and I made the "hand turkey." I traced both her feet for the body, and we cut out lots of hands for the feathers. What's great about this is some day she will see just how small her feet and hands were!

Bean is glue happy, so this will NEVER fall apart! I wanted to keep it somewhere inside, but she insisted it belongs on the outside of the front door. I think she did a great job!

Penguins in Love

Hello all and hope you're all having a great Thursday. So, Bean got her flu shot yesterday, and by last night, she was sick! What's that all about?!

Today I'm using a freebie from Pollycraft:
DP is Pink Petticoat, candy canes are Christmas Cheer Cricut cart cut at 1 3/4" (once regular and once on Flip), image is Pollycraft colored with Copics and Bics, shaded with Chalk Inks, sewing, and glaze.
Got an OK shot of the glaze-y goodness.

This card meets the following challenges:

Sitting Thanks

Hello everyone and hope you are having a great Wednesday! Bean went for her flu shot today, and I just can't handle watching my baby being hurt. I see that lovely nurse make my baby cry and I want to punch her in the face! But on to something a little more happy:

Bugaboo is currently having a 50% off sale so I picked up a few goodies. I also won 4 free digis in the last challenge (can I get a WOO-HOO?!) so I'm all happy! Anyway, this lovely "brat" does not come with the bench. So I simply put the two digis together in word! My image is colored with Copics and Prismas, and shaded with 4 different Ranger Inks - going for a Fall look.
Sewing of course, leaves are Doodlecharms Cricut Cart at 1", and sentiment is Stampin' Up's Short & Sweet (my favorite set!). Anyway, that's all for today :) How's your day? Working on anything crafty?

This card meets the following challenges:
Bugaboo DT CALL: This post also serves as my round 1 application for the current DT call. Here are two more cards for your viewing pleasure :)

Dude and Zipper Tutorial

Hello all and happy Tuesday! Guess what? On one of our radio stations, they are playing Christmas music 24/7. Yup, it's already started. I hate to admit it, but I LOVE Christmas music.

So I got this great little squirrel from Dustin Pike (he has some of the BEST sales ever!), I colored him up and just had him collecting dust. So last night, I put him to use for a few challenges:

DP is DCWV Green Stack, and they have a slight shiny texture, so there's more reflection in this pic than I'd like. But you get the idea. Sentiment is Mickey Font at 1", sewing, and a little glaze.

I see lots of cards with the inside all decorated up, so I gave it a shot...just a little bit tho!
This card meets the following challenges:
*****NOT A CARD*******
Just sharing a little pouch I made using an online Zipper Tutorial. This was super easy and took maybe all of 30 minutes to put together....I see a Christmas gift idea!!

So this now holds my precious markers when I color on the road. Yup, I take images and markers along with me everywhere I go. I don't do well sitting idle.

Smile

Hello all and Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. Bean got so much candy that I had to carry her bucket from house to house because it was too heavy for her. She took over once we got to the walkways, got her candy, then handed it off to me until the next house.

I want to share a card I made last week using the smiling giraffe from Designed2Delight:

I LOVE him! I colored and colored until I got the effect I wanted. I went with a simple layout from Splitcoaststampers SC62. The DP is Cosmo Cricket, and the letters are Mickey Font Cricut cart at 3/4". The sewing is a little hard to see, but I did a zig-zag stitch around the edges.
Oh how I was so impressed with myself on how I colored his face. Believe it or not, sometimes I take on certain images just to practice, practice, practice. This coloring stuff doesn't just come naturally to me you know (you can tell by some of my cards! LOL!!).

And just a note, the Double Delight Challenge this week is: EMBOSSING.
