Doodlecharms Seahorse Birthday

Hello and happy Friday!  Wow, I'm so happy the weekend is just about here.  We have no special plans, but just knowing we can go out shopping, or stay in our pj's all day is such a treat.

Today, I would like to share a card for my SIL:

I used the seahorse from Cricut cart Doodle Charms, and the sentiment is from Stampin Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes.  A simple layout, but I like the overall look of this one.  She should be receiving it soon, and hopefully she likes it.

Just a short post today.  I thank you for taking a peek.

This meets the following challenges: Die Cuttin Divas: Birthday Wishes, Ike's World: AG or All At Sea (plus they are offering a digi freebie), Unicorn Challenge: At the Beach, Always Happy Birthday: AG or Water Theme, and Cardz 4 Galz: Dies and/or Punches.

Hello all and welcome to the weekend! Well, it's close enough right?

Isn't he SU-WEET?! I used Doodlecharms for the heart at 3 1/4", DP is Paper Studio's Sweet Pea, and the sentiment is from set I won at CardPatterns (sponsored by Layers of Color).

Enjoy the Freebie!!

Sitting Thanks

Hello everyone and hope you are having a great Wednesday! Bean went for her flu shot today, and I just can't handle watching my baby being hurt. I see that lovely nurse make my baby cry and I want to punch her in the face! But on to something a little more happy:

Bugaboo is currently having a 50% off sale so I picked up a few goodies. I also won 4 free digis in the last challenge (can I get a WOO-HOO?!) so I'm all happy! Anyway, this lovely "brat" does not come with the bench. So I simply put the two digis together in word! My image is colored with Copics and Prismas, and shaded with 4 different Ranger Inks - going for a Fall look.
Sewing of course, leaves are Doodlecharms Cricut Cart at 1", and sentiment is Stampin' Up's Short & Sweet (my favorite set!). Anyway, that's all for today :) How's your day? Working on anything crafty?

This card meets the following challenges:
Bugaboo DT CALL: This post also serves as my round 1 application for the current DT call. Here are two more cards for your viewing pleasure :)

Thank You Teachers

So last week was Teacher Appreciation week and there I was again, at the last minute, trying to make a little something for Bean's AWESOME teachers.

Using Doodlecharms, I cut the apples at 4", once in green, once in red, and the stems in tan. I inked everything! The stamp is Stampin' Ups Circle of Friendship. These are great all occasion stamps.

This is the back of the giftcard holder. I cut another in red and glued it on just around 3 edges so I could slip the card in. Had I thought to measure the giftcards first, these would probably look different :) Oh well, that's how I learn.

And this is the front. Bean loves giving her teachers gifts...especially in the form of small rocks.

Te Quiero Vaca

So this is my first Valentines Day Card. I'm actually early for something!

For those of you non-Spanish speakers: Te quiero Moo-cho (a play on the word mucho) = I love you a lot.

Here's some details: digistamp from Softpencil (her Etsy shop, her AiF shop), sewing, DCWV the Sweet Stack (patterned CS), Copics, computer generated sentiment, G red glitter, Doodlecharms cricut heart cut at 1" and 1.5" (inside). I actually cut the larger heart first and it didn't look good on the front, but I didn't want to waste it so I put it inside.

This also fits the following challenges:
Now I have to make something special for Bean. Maybe something with candy.

Happy Thanksgiving with Character Cafe

It's Friday (well, it will be in 2 hours (I'm on Mountain Time))! That means it's time to head on over to The Character Cafe to check out their latest challenge.

This adorable digi stamp is from TCC. This isn't usually my style of stamp, but when I saw it, I couldn't wait to use it. First, it's just so lovely, and second, I thought it would be a challenge to myself, and last, it works perfectly for the latest Mojo Monday challenge.
Here's what's in it:
Paper: DCWV Summer Matstack, PTI white, various cardstocks
Stamps: TCC digistamp, $1 Michaels acrylic set sentiment
Other: Bics, Cricut Doodlecharms (leaf cut at 1 1/2"), Ranger peeled paint
So stop by The Character Cafe to enter the latest challenge, and you still have time to enter the Mojo Monday challenge.

Challenge and Tutorial

There is a challenge over at Aifactory and the winner will receive a really cool set of digi-stamps. I used the digi-stamp set found here, and the challenge involves a color scheme that I attempted to use in my card here:
The card uses the oval frame from the Jasmine Cricut cart cut at 3" and the spider from Doodlecharms cut at 2.25 ". From this digi set, I also made a tag (using George), and a possible embellishment for a card, gift bag, or scrapbook (using Accent Essentials).

Tutorial - How to use digi-stamps with Cricut die-cuts:
First, cut out shapes using Cricut in size desired for card or embellishment. I know the Expressions has a "center" cut option, but it is not always exact when dealing with smaller or odd shaped digistamps or regular stamps.

I print images out to the size desired on a regular piece of printer paper (great way to use paper in your recycle bin) - I make sure they will fit on the diecut shapes.
Using double sided tape, cover images with diecuts and run through printer a second time. Make sure to load the sheet in the same direction.
Here, the images have printed exactly where I want them on my diecuts. From here, finish assembling your embellishments or project. For these stamped diecuts, I have used the Jasmine oval frame cut at 3", the triangle with rounded corner using George cut at 2.75", and the purple cut is from Accent Essentials cut at 2.75".

Birds of a Feather

I really like the way this turned out. I used a free digi stamp from Dustin Pike. I really like his creations.

I colored in the image using copics (still new at it, but I'm giving it a go), the leaves are cut at 1" using Doodlecharms cart in white and inked using Ranger Inks, machine sewing, inked the edges, and computer generated circle sentiment using fonts from Scrapnfonts. I hope you enjoy!
