Birthday Chicken Animal Kingdom

Hello and happy Tuesday.  So, this year, I have attempted to use my Cricut cartridges more.   So far I've used Nifty Fifties a couple times, and Tinkerbell.  That's not quite the self goal I was going for.  But I'm not giving up just yet!

So today I'm featuring a card using Animal Kingdom cricut cart.

My Aunt loves and raises chickens, so I thought it was appropriate for her birthday.  I cut out all the chicken parts in white and colored the blue and yellow parts with copics and added shading.  I do feel this is much cuter in real life and there is plenty of dimension with the different layers.

Anyway, just sharing that I am still attempting my Cricut cart personal goal!

Thanks for stopping by.

Cricut Animal Kingdom Monkey Valentine

Hello and happy Friday! Just a quick share today of Little Bit's Valentine card.  She has lots of nicknames, including Monkey.  That child will jump off anything, is constantly getting hurt, and I'm now a photoshop pro, editing out black eyes and swollen frontal lobes!

I'm using Cricut Cart Animal Kingdom for the adorable monkey.  One of my personal challenges this year is to go through most of my Cricut carts and create something!  So far I have realized I really miss my machine, and I've been thoroughly enjoying cutting, pasting, and coming up with ideas.  Anyway, the sentiment is from a Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin kit.

I'm sure the eyes seem overpowering, but I only had little and big googly eyes - no medium. And both Bit and Bean have large eyes, so I went with large.  That's it for me - catching a cold and need to rest.

This meets the following challenges:  Bitten by the Bug: Valentine's for Child, CardzTV: Challenge 32: Anything Goes, 2 Crafter Critter Crazies: Anything With a Critter on it, Aud Sentiments: Valentine or Love Sentiment, and Crafting with an Attitude: Anything Goes.

Fishy Kisses

The TCC DT is on break this month but I just can't keep still. I HAD to make something, right? So I pulled out one piece of white CS, used layout #57 over at Card Patterns, and turned on the Cricut!
Like I said, I only used white CS. I used the following Ranger inks for my colors: faded jeans, peeled paint, fired brick, and spiced marmalade. I recently saw some new colors, so I'm sure I'll be at Michael's this weekend!

All cuts are from Cricut's Animal Kingdom: fishbowl and shift at 3", plant at 2", fish (head) and shift at 2.25". I added glaze on the lips and fins, google eyes, and pop-dots. The water spots are created with: water! One of the things I love about the Ranger inks. The sentiment is computer generated and I used my all time favorite punch for the holes.
Bean loves giving fish kisses to her Grandma, so I'm sure this card will go to her sooner or later.

Quack

Lately, I've been feeling like my family tree has more than it's share of nuts...or quacks. So this card is dedicated to all the crazies in my life :)

Of course, people might be saying I'm the one throwing stones while I live in my glass house...but what do they know? They're all quacks!

So I finally broke open a paperpack I got a few months ago. I'm such a dork. I see paper I really like, then don't use it because it's "too pretty to use." HUH? Anyway, the DP is Cosmo Cricket, and I included a little sewing. The card size is 5.5".
The sun-like nesties are new - got them at HL's latest 40% off sale. The duck is from Cricut's Animal Kingdom cart cut at 3.5", shaded with chalk inks. I added a little white pen - then regretted adding it to his head...I think it's a bit much. I made the eyes using my Cropadile - just punched 2 small black eyes and added white pen. I think I'll add a little glaze.
The layout is Card Patterns #56. They have really good layouts so visit if you haven't been there already. Then you can also see that I made Super Six for this card!
